Overview

The ULN2803 is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor array integrated circuit produced by Toshiba. It is mainly used to solve the interface problem between low logic level digital circuits (such as TTL, CMOS or PMOS/NMOS) and higher current/voltage requirements. • High voltage resistance and large current capacity: The maximum collector-emitter voltage can reach 50V, and the maximum collector current of a single output is 500mA, which can meet the driving requirements of various high-power loads.

• Darlington transistor driver design: It contains eight NPN Darlington transistors internally. This structure gives it a high current gain and can amplify the input small current signal into a large current signal sufficient to drive high-power loads.

• Input compatible with multiple logic levels: It is compatible with multiple types of logic levels such as TTL and CMOS. Its input resistance is 2.7 kiloohms, and the recommended input voltage is 5 volts. Some products can also work normally with an input voltage as low as 3.3V.

• Built-in protection diodes: Each Darlington transistor's output terminal is integrated with a flyback diode to suppress the back electromotive force generated by inductive loads at the moment of power off, thereby protecting other components in the circuit from reverse voltage impacts.
