General description
The 88W8964 features 160MHz bandwidth and Multi-User Multi-Input Multi-Output (MU-MIMO) while achieving 2.6 Gbit/s peak data rate for high speed, secure, and reliable access points and smart gateways. Supporting high-performance 802.11i security standards through implementation of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)/Counter Mode CBC-MAC Protocol (CCMP), Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) with Temporal Key Integrity Protocol (TKIP), Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)/Cipher-Based Message Authentication Code (CMAC) and WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI) security mechanisms, the 88W8964 delivers 802.11e Quality of Service (QoS) to reduce latency for video, voice, and multimedia applications.
88W8964, a new member of its award-winning Avastar Wi-Fi processor family, supports 160 MHz bandwidth and Multi-User, Multiple Input and Multiple Output, and achieves 2.6 Gbps peak data rate for high speed, secure and reliable access points and smart gateways
